From the President...
August, 2011
Your Harvard Club of Georgia continues to thrive. In the past year we have:
- Held more than 30 events several - - attracting over 100 alums.
- Interviewed over 700 undergraduate applicants resulting in 68 admits and 54 matriculations. Both our admit rates and our yield rates beat the national averages.
- Awarded over 75 more Book Prizes.
- Assisted numerous undergrads with their search for a summer job.
- Launched local common interest groups for young familes (Crimson Tots) and cyclists.
- Served breakfast to the homeless as part of Harvard’s Month of Public Service.
- Attracted numerous Crimson and Summa Level supporters.
The attached newsletter provides details on all of this and more.
This year we are going to print a member directory but you must be a club member to order one.
But we need your on-going support to continue to thrive.
- Join the Club today (so our volunteers don’t have to chase you).
- Consider joining at the Crimson or Summa levels (as there are many costs associated with administering a club of our size).
- Consider contributing to the Book Prize program.
- Interview undergraduate applicants (email KatieFahs@gmail.com for information).
- Volunteer to lead an event or assist in club leadership (email info@harvardclubga.org).
- Attend events.
The Mission of the Harvard Club of GA is to help its members continue the journey they began at Harvard—socially, intellectually and with a sense of purpose. By joining the Club as a paid member and getting involved in Club activities, you help to achieve this goal.
